A day in the Life of an ONLINE student
Do you think online classes are fun? If you do, then you’re clearly not a student.
Online classes are boring. You have no friends to talk to and neither do you get any fun periods. It’s all studies. What’s more, you don’t even have any teacher on you who constantly tells you to study and complete your work. Never thought I’d miss this. Now I’m left to fend for myself. I’m expected to manage my studies, keep my work up to date and enjoy myself. I am completely lost. They hope that I manage my time yet usually I just tend to waste it.
In school, the only distraction were my friends while here at home, the continuous notifications from YouTube and WhatsApp haunt me.
My day starts at 7 am with my mind telling myself, ‘You have to do it Daria. Get up. Get out of bed. You can’t afford to miss classes.’ And with this thought, I practically drag myself onto the yoga mat and exercise. My classes begin at 8:30 am and go on till 2 pm. It’s a very tedious task to sit at one place and study continuously for 5 hours. As the classes get as boring as they can, I try hard to keep my eyes open. It’s a struggle. I manage to have my breakfast in the single 10 minutes break that we get between classes. After my classes end, I have my lunch and take a much needed break for an hour. And then from 3 pm to 4 pm, I have my tuitions.
Evening comes and I’m exhausted to the extent that I can barely lift a finger. I haven’t slept a wink since the moment I got up and all my energy is drained. I take a stroll around 7 pm to freshen my mind and to gear up for the revision session starting from 8 pm. I try my best to squeeze in my work in the time I have without any entertainment. I end my day around 11:30 pm and go to sleep only to repeat the whole thing the next day.
But hey, sometimes it gets too much, and there comes a point when I can’t do it anymore and so I stop. I watch some TV series or listen to songs or paint. I do it to relieve my stress.
Sundays are my free days. I study around the clock for 6 days so that I can have the Sundays to myself and not feel guilty about it later.
We are all suffering from online classes. We are tired and worn out from the number of efforts we put in. And this is the reason why each one of us deserves a break from this hell.
I guess this is the story of every student’s life !
