Satya Veerendra (SV) is a 25-year-old government officer. His father, a retired government employee, lives in a district headquarters.

Janaki Priya (JP) is a 22-year-old SWE working at an MNC. Her parents are from an agricultural background and live in a village.

SV's and JP's parents were distant relatives. Hence, JP's parents approached SV's parents. SV and JP exchanged views, and their parents fixed the engagement date.

SV met JP every Saturday and Sunday and held pre-wedding shoots at places of interest. They respected their limits.

Their marriage took place on a grand scale. Relatives and friends from both sides attended and blessed the couple. The backdrop of the marriage pandal featured Lord Sri Venkateshwara blessing the couple.

SV took a 2 BHK flat in an apartment complex near JP's office. JP had a scooter, and SV had a motorbike. SV and JP enjoyed married life by going to the movies at multiplex cinemas on working days. On weekends, they visited waterfalls, temples, gardens, and beaches.

They led a happy life for two years. On their way back from a visit to a waterfall on the motorbike, a truck travelling the wrong way hit their motorbike head-on. SV and JP died on the spot.

The post-mortem was conducted, and the bodies were handed over to their parents. The truck driver was arrested and sentenced to jail.

Yama doota shifted the souls of SV and JP to Yama Loka and presented them before Lord Yama. Chitra Gupta presented their previous birth histories to determine their further course of action.

In his earlier birth, SV was a thief, stealing money and gold ornaments from houses and from women on the road. In the process, he killed several people and was imprisoned.

Then Lord Yama asked Chitra Gupta to review the records again. Why was he not punished for his sins?

Chitra Gupta said to Lord Yama, "Oh, Lord, he donated some of the stolen money to beggars on the streets. Hence, he earned his spiritual merit and was sent to Bhur Loka(Earth)."

But, my Lord, we have not considered his killing of people in the process, and did not punish him for those sins. Now he deserves to be punished for those sins.

Chitragupta: Presents the list of 14 Lokas to Lord Yama. They are divided into upper and lower worlds.

Upper worlds

1. Satya Loka 2. Tapa Loka 3. Jana Loka.

4. Mahar Loka 5. Svar Loka 6. Bhuvar Loka, and

7. Bhur Loka

Lower Worlds

8. Atala Loka 9. Vitala Loka

10. Sutala Loka 11. Talatala Loka 12. Mahatala Loka 13. Rasatala Loka, and 14. Patala Loka.

Lord Yama to Chitra Gupta: Send SV to Patala Loka as a punishment for killing people.

Yama's soldiers escorted SV and handed him to the King of Patala Loka.

Then Chitra Gupta took up the case of JP.

JP bowed before Lord Yama and requested to be sent to the same place where SV had been sent.

Your Lordship, "I made a promise in my marriage to live with him for 7 incarnations. Please send me to the same Loka as SV. This is only our 2nd incarnation."

Lord Yama, that is not possible. We decide your Loka based on your previous sins or virtues, not on request.

Lord Yama to Chitra Gupta: Collect her previous incarnations' history. I will decide tomorrow.

The following day, Chitra Gupta presented a detailed account of JP's previous incarnations.

In her earlier incarnations, she was a pious woman who helped those in need, either through service or money. She led a spiritual life, praying to Lord Vishnu every morning and evening. She took her spouse and children to temples in South and North India. She conducted Bhajanas in praise of the Lord.

Lord Yama: Because of her virtuous earnings, she deserves Svar Loka.

JP to Lord Yama: Oh, Lord, You are the supreme decider of the relocation of all atmas. Please consider my other request. I will donate half of my virtues to SV. Please accept and post both of us in the same Loka.

Lord Yama: You humans have peculiar ideas, but I can't consider them. With these words, Lord Yama ordered JP to Svar Loka.

Yama's soldiers escorted JP to Svarga Loka.

Patala Loka lies beneath the seas. There, Nagas and serpent deities were present. They are considered powerful and divine.

Along with Nagas, Patala Loka is inhabited by divine and semi-divine beings, demons, and spirits.

The Patala Loka King, having considered SV's previous incarnations, admitted SV to the spirits. All the serpents, demons and spirits worked in accordance with the King's instructions. They were united, with no grudges against anyone. The King allocated different areas of work. The King is protected by two divine nagas, Vasuki and Takshaka. The King is a divine being appointed by Lord Vishnu to rule Patala Loka.

Patala Loka is the treasure of the fourteen Lokas. For any requirement of gems and gold, other Loka kings must request the Patala King through Lord Vishnu. There is no dearth of material benefits in Patala Loka. Their mind is preoccupied with material benefits, and never the slightest diversion towards spirituality or godliness.

Schools in Patala Loka teach different subjects on materials and their benefits. SV was sent to one of these schools.

Svar or Svarga Loka has lush gardens, celestial music, divine beings and pleasures. The King of Svarga Loka appointed JP to be a celestial being.

There were schools for celestial beings. The gods taught the present state of affairs in the various Lokas. JP was trained in one such school. They were to go to various Lokas and instil righteous and divine thinking in the inhabitants.

In Patala Loka, they knew that many gemstones and other valuable minerals are found in Bhur Loka (Earth). The King decided to explore and formed a team with SV and three more to visit Bhur Loka. On an auspicious day, he sent them into space.

In Svarga Loka, the King entrusted them with instilling righteous and divine thinking in human beings, who were being diverted towards material benefits. He arranged a four-member team including JP.

They were to ensure that humans were trained to think of the Almighty in their daily lives. They boarded the spaceship with the King's blessings.

Both spaceships set out on a ten-day orbiting journey to their destinations with their objectives. After about five days of orbiting their respective universes, they lost contact with their ground stations and entered another universe. The pilots of the spaceships lost control of their ships. The ships continued to orbit without any direction. One night, the two ships collided and fell into the Indian Ocean. The fishermen saw the two spaceships and alerted the Indian Navy. The Navy personnel found no one alive and collected the bodies of the crew. They removed the debris.

Lord Yama's soldiers took all the souls to Yama Loka.

Chitra Gupta presented the history of SV and JP before Lord Yama. He stood before Yama with his hands clasped behind his back and his head bowed.

Lord Yama to Chitra Gupta: "How did all these mistakes happen under my rule? You require punishment."

Chitra Gupta: Lord, it was not my mistake. It was a mistake by our soldiers. At first, they were sent to bring another newly married couple on a motorbike, but they made a mistake and brought SV and JP.

When JP offered half of her virtues to SV, Your Honour considered her request and transferred those virtues to SV. By then, SV was already in Patala Loka.

It was all in their destiny. We couldn't help.

When I presented these happenings about this couple, Your Lordship thought of sending them in spaceships.

Now, Lord, what should we do with this couple? If Lord Vishnu knew of our mistake, he would take it seriously.

Lord Yama to Chitra Gupta: Don't worry about it. First, I am punishing the two soldiers who brought SV and JP. Next, I will grant SV and JP life on Earth and let them live there as human beings.

All the bodies from the sea were taken to the hospital for post-mortem examination. When the doctors wanted to conduct a post-mortem on SV and JP, to their surprise, SV and JP were not dead but unconscious. They were transferred to the hospital's ICU for treatment. After two days of treatment, they were normal.

SV and JP recognised each other. SV had a large hoard of gems and gold with him, as he had brought them for his spaceship crew in case of necessity. As they were no longer needed, he used them to purchase a villa and other necessities, and began their life on Earth. They thanked Lord Yama and Chitra Gupta for granting their request to live together in future incarnations and for sending them to Earth again. Lord Yama and Chitra Gupta blessed them with long life and a hundred more incarnations together.
