1. Kindly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Dr Musipatla Prabhakar, 82, a retired (during COVID-19) Professor and Principal of Engineering Colleges in Telangana State.
2. What inspired you to begin writing? Please share your writing journey.
During my service, I wrote Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the establishment of new colleges and universities. With that in view, my children and near relations advised me to start writing after retirement.
3. Which genres or themes do you love writing the most?
All my service was with young students and faculties. The experiences with these people are of various genres.
4. Where do most of your writing ideas come from?
Mostly from life experiences, and recently, from newspaper reports and imagination.
5. What comes first for you — plot, character, or emotion?
The story is woven around the main character and their desires and emotions, creating a conflict of interests among other characters that drives the plot.
6. Who is one writer or storyteller that has influenced your work?
In my youth, I read Telugu novels from Mahakavi Kalidas to the present-day Yandamuri Veerendra Nath.
7. What kind of books you like to read?
Stories, Novels, and other literary books
8. A writer you admire ?
Sharat Chandra, Rahul Sankrityayan and Stephen King.
9. Your comfort read — one book you can read again and again?
My Eternal Quest by Paramhansa Yogananda
10. If you could give only one writing tip to aspiring authors, what would it be?
Start writing, writing and writing.
11. The hardest part about writing?
Editing
12. The most rewarding part about writing?
People reading my stories.
13. What is your future writing plan? Which other themes or subjects would you like to write about in the future?
Continue with Story writing, and if possible, write a novel.
