Lithuanians are very proud of their Literature heritage. The name ‘Literatu means “writers” in Lithuanian. This lovely street is like an open-air gallery. Its walls are decorated with small objects made of metal, wood and glass as tributes to writers who have influenced Lithuanian literature.

Druskininkai is a spa town on the Nemunas River in southern Lithuania, close to the borders of Belarus and Poland. The city of Druskininkai has a population of 12,055 and dates back as a spa resort to the 19th century.
I remember the evening when I got a call from a Rotarian friend asking for participation in the RFE programme in Lithuania.
