Beyond Time--A Tale of Two Souls
Yoga Kiran and Saagara Sree are eighty and seventy-eight. In a month, they will celebrate their fifty-fifth marriage day. Their parents settled their marriage. They were unknown to each other before marriage. They were from distant relations. Their parents educated them to start life but not money. After marriage, they moved away from their parents because of their jobs, started their own family and love journey by working and developing.
They had three children: two sons and a daughter. They gave their children best education, till post graduation. The first two settled in the USA and UK, and the youngest son in India. All three worked in the software industry. Three of their grandchildren are well-educated and working, and three more are in their graduation and postgraduate studies in India and abroad.
Saagara Sree is a devotional woman who performs pooja every morning. They visited devotional places yearly after the children's birth and vacation period and performed functions like anna prashana and akshrabhyasam at the temple. They visited holy places in the USA and UK during their visit to children.
They were thinking of their next life as they were nearing eighty. They prayed to the Almighty GOD to give them the same spouse in the next life and six more incarnations after the present.
*
Yoga Kiran and Saagara Sree went to a temple 250 km from their place of stay. They booked a cab for their journey. They stayed at the temple cottage and had early morning darshan of the Lord and were returning after breakfast. After travelling about 100 km, a truck in the opposite direction hit their cab. Yoga Kiran was sitting on the right side, and Saagara Sree was sitting to the left behind the driver in the back seat. The truck hit on the right side, and Yoga Kiran was spot dead.
Saagara Sree was in a shock. The children performed the funeral rites of Yoga Kiran on the 11th day. Saagara Sree could not bear the loss of her beloved husband, and on that night, she breathed her last. The children were in shock with the death of both parents within a few days. They performed the funeral rites of Saagara Sree and went to join their jobs.
The Lord of Death took Yoga Kiran and Saagara Sree's souls and ordered them to stay in Heaven. Because of her prayers to the Gods, Saagara Sree's soul was ordered to enjoy two years in Heaven, and Yoga Kiran's soul was permitted to enjoy six months in Heaven.
They enjoyed their stay in Heaven because of the facilities and lavish treatment. The Death God enquired daily about their facilities and any further requirements. Yoga Kiran and Saagara Sree could not meet in Heaven as they were not visible to each other, were in a soul form and could not recognise each other.
The Death God told them that after their term of stay was over, their souls would report to Brahma, the creator of the universe, to decide their future course of action.

Many were waiting for their turn when Yoga Kiran's soul was sent to Creator God Brahma. Brahma's assistant, Sankhya Veda, had a history of evil and good-doings in their past life. He presented their help to others with their knowledge and money, gave solace in distress or helped them seek God. He also explained how a person tortured others for money, was angry, jealous of others' growth, and hated others. He presented the person's family life. Considering all these, Brahma decided on the next life for the soul. He had five categories of life: 1. Microorganisms 2. Birds, Mammals, and Reptiles, etc. on Earth 3.Sea life 4. Plants and 5. Human life. Within the above are several classifications that the Sankhya Veda and Brahma knew.
As Sankhya Veda gave details, Brahma decided the soul's next life among the above.
When Yoga Kiran's soul was before Brahma, the records showed that he had helped people develop in his previous life with knowledge and money. He also offered prayers to God daily and visited temples. He prayed to God and believed in God's totality and his creation and continuation of this universe. So Sankhya Veda advised Brahma that Yoga Kiran's soul may be given an extension of human service. Brahma decided he would be born in the USA. Then, they decided on the family he was to be born. Brahma wanted to make him devotional and ordered that he be born into a middle-class family so that he could always think of God.
Brahma decided their future based on their earlier works. He looked into how they lived and whether they cared for others.
Brahma was to determine a companion in the new life for Yoga Kiran. For that, Sankhya Veda had a ready-made answer: Yoga Kiran's earlier life partner, Saagara Sree, a pious woman, believed God was the superpower of all the creation of this universe in all aspects.
Sankhya Veda added that Yoga Kiran and Saagara Sree prayed for seven incarnations to be husband and wife. Brahma said, "I can't guarantee the next five incarnations, but I will grant them their prayer this incarnation because of their helpful nature to others in times of need." Brahma asked Sankhya Veda to remind him when Saagara Sree's soul was ready for her next life.

Yoga Kiran's soul was born to white orthodox American parents in Minneapolis, USA. His parents ran a grocery shop, and they named the child Edward. His mother was orthodox and took Edward to the Church every Sunday and offered prayers to the Lord Jesus Christ. He was educated in their area at a public school maintained by the local municipality. During their vacations in high school, Edward did a part-time sales job in cloth stores and earned money for his expenses. He did his graduation from a public university in computer science. He worked as a software engineer at an Indian software development company in New York, USA. His parents were happy with his posting.

When Saagara Sree's soul completed her Heavenly term, she was taken before Brahma, the creator, for her next life term. Sankhya Veda put all her previous life details before Brahma. Because of her pious nature, prayers to God, and helping nature to other people, Brahma decided to give her human life as a woman again to help more people. He decided that her birth country would be the UK, and she would be born into a well-to-do family.
At this stage, Sankhya Veda reminded Brahma that Yoga Kiran and Saagara Sree requested to be husband and wife for seven incarnations. Sankhya Veda also reminded Brahma that he would consider Saaga Sree's request when Yoga Kiran's soul term was decided. So Brahma granted that they would also be husband and wife in this life. But his assistant wondered how these two persons, one in the USA and the other in the UK, would get married and live together.
Saagara Sree's soul was born in London to a wealthy family. Her father owned a chain of hotels in the UK, USA, and India. They named the child Katherine.
Katherine, the lone child, was brought up with lots and lots of love and affection by her parents. She had no shortage of anything from toys, dresses, and caretakers. Her parents showered strong affection and pampered her. Her education took place in the best schools and colleges in London. She did her Masters in Business Management from the best university in the UK. The driver took her to the college and brought her back. She arranged parties for her friends in her hotels.
After completing her MBA, she was appointed the Managing Director of all the hotels and asked to improve them with her latest knowledge. She visited hotels in Chicago, USA, and stayed there for one or two days.
One day, she wanted to visit Chicago on her own, so she took her car and started driving on the roads there. Her driver requested that she not drive as there is a difference between driving in the UK and the USA.
She was searching for an Indian Biryani Restaurant in that area.
It was about 2 p.m., and people from nearby offices came for lunch in hotels. They were all hungry, as it was late for lunch. They were in a group, all walking on the footpath.
Katherine located the hotel and wanted to taste the Indian Biryani from an Indian Chef; while nearing the hotel, she hit someone just behind the group. He fell on the road. Katherine stopped the vehicle and came to his help. By then, all his friends surrounded him. They found he could not stand, as one of his legs had a problem. She immediately shifted him to the nearby hospital in her car. Katherine told his friends that she would bear all the expenditures of his cure and take care of him till his recovery, and they agreed.
His friends said, "He came from New York for a seminar on upgrading the new technological developments in the field. His name is Edward."
On hearing these words, Katherine said, "She will take care of him and assign him a 24/7 caretaker. She was inquiring about his progress daily by coming to the hospital.
The X-ray of the leg showed a split fracture of the Tibula (main) bone. The doctors put a bandage on the calf of the leg and asked him to bed rest for three weeks. Until then, the male nursing caretaker was with him in all his activities. After two weeks, doctors asked him to walk short distances in his room with the caretaker's help. Katherine visited him every day, morning and evening. One day, when the caretaker was taking Edward on a walk, the nurse called him for some work. At that time, Katherine was in the hospital room. She asked the caretaker to go and took responsibility for Edward's walk. Edward said, "He can wait till the caretaker comes. But she put his right hand on her shoulders and her left hand on his waist, making him walk with her.
At this instant, they both felt they had known each other earlier. They looked into each other's eyes. Their eyes met, taking them into their past lives, but they did not talk. Both were silent. Edward expressed that she need not take the trouble of coming and visiting him, though, in his inner heart, he craved to see her every day. She had also the same feeling. They were unable to understand why they were feeling for each other. They never knew that they had requested Brahma to be united as husband and wife for seven incarnations, and this is the second one.
Their desire to see each other increased over time. The accident that Katherine made to Edward had an impact on her life. Katherine longed to visit him, and he was eager to see her. One day, when she was standing by his bedside, he got up from the bed, trying to go to nature call, but could not stand and was about to fall. She caught hold of him, and unable to withstand, she fell on the bed with Edward on her. Their upper bodies were in close touch with each other. She felt shy, tilted him onto the side of the bed and got up.
She sat on the bed, caressing his head, and he pressed her hand.

After three weeks, he was discharged from the hospital and advised to use a hand stick while walking. He went to his home in New York and started working from home. Katherine also shifted to her New York hotel and visited Edward on alternate days. Edward's mother came from Minneapolis and wondered why this girl was visiting Edward.
Edward told his mother, "She caused the accident, borne the hospital expenditure, and cared for me." His mother was convinced and agreed to her visits.
Katherine's father was worried that she wouldn't return to London from the USA for over a month. When asked about the delay, she didn't tell him of the accident but said she wanted to spend some time in the USA.
Her father doubted her and asked the Hotel Manager to find out the details of her stay. The manager informed him about the accident and her visits to Edward in the hospital and to his home in New York.
Her father thought things were getting out of control. He came to New York and asked Katherine about her stay in the USA for a long time.
Katherine told him about the accident in Chicago to Edward and her responsibility in caring for the patient in the hospital. Her father said, "You could have paid and got rid of him. Why are you taking care of him?"
Katherine replied, "That accident changed my life. At that instant, I was attracted to him. My brain suggested that he was the correct person for a lifelong relationship. Hence, I continued meeting him, and I love him."
Katherine's father said, "I do not believe in such psychological feelings of love, etc. Society is based on money. Marriages must be between equals in social and financial status." After saying these words, he took her to the UK.

Working from home in New York City, Edward was waiting for Katherine. Ever since he saw her in the hospital, he developed a yearning for her.
The brain is a physical organ in a person's head. The mind is the feeling, thinking, and dreaming of a person. These are all in one's imagination. The mind is neither made of any material nor has any physical shape. All the mind's thoughts must be transferred to the brain for action. But how does one get these thoughts into the mind? This is only known to the creator.
Katherine and Edward's minds induced yearnings for each other, and their brains started action. They started craving each other's company.
Edward went to the UK to meet Katherine, and her father met him. Edward said, "I am in love with Katherine; I can't live without her. If you believe I do not have money like you, we will develop like you after marriage and bring you fame." Her father rejected Edward's request and told him not to try to meet Katherine again.
But Katherine said, "She is leaving the house to stay with Edward in the USA."
Edward told Katherine, "Dear Katherine, let us give your father some time to think over it, and I will ask my mother to meet him to gain confidence in our marriage." These words made Katherine's father think twice about his decision, but he remained silent.
Edward told his mother of Katherine's father's rejection of the marriage proposal. Edward's mother met Katherine's father in the UK. What transpired between them is unknown, but within an hour of meeting, both agreed to Edward and Katherine's marriage.
Katherine's father celebrated the marriage lavishly in one of their hotels in New York, inviting all the bigwigs. Edward and Katherine were happy.
Katherine's father was an ardent lover of Edward's mother in their school days. When Katherine's father shifted to the UK, they could not meet again. After several long years of separation, it was the first time they met. Their adolescent love still shining in their eyes, they shook hands and laughed heartily at the design of destiny. He said, "Though we could not meet again after our school days because of destiny, on seeing you, I felt Edward is the correct person for my daughter and immediately agreed to the marriage of My daughter Katherine with your son Edward."
She looked into his eyes, shook his hands, and thanked him.
Sankhya Veda wondered how Brahma would get these Yoga Kiran and Saagara Sree married in their second incarnation, one in the USA and the other in the UK, in families of different social and economic statuses. But Brahma remembers everyone's history, and it is HE who decides the future of everyone on this Earth. Edward and Katherine lived happily and planned for their togetherness in their reincarnation.
