Book Review
I was overwhelmed by the in-depth analysis of the Post Covid Corporate World, when I completed reading this book ! The book is the new BIBLE for organization leadership and talent management, as the author says ‘work-workplace-workers’. The book touches upon various points, and from various perspectives – every reader would certainly have a takeaway message from the book.
The book discusses the impact of COVID-19 on business and how organizations should deal with the changing norms of work-workplace-workers. It has many interesting examples and case studies. Referencing a wide range of eminent entrepreneurs, management thinkers, HR practitioners, and business leaders, it is replete with insightful facts, anecdotes and perspectives.
In this book, Abhijit highlights the differentiators that make any Organization – a Dreamer or a Unicorn or a Market shaper, with great real-life examples, and how the key drivers of growth have shifted to softer aspects like leadership, talent strategies and organizational culture.
Also, the author has highlighted the importance of creative content writing and storytelling in the corporate world and otherwise too, this was one of the key takeaways for me.
About the writing – with 512 pages, at first glance, I was a bit nervous, if I would be able to read through. But kudos to the author, he is able to hold the attention of reader till end, with a very fluid writing. You just go with the flow, imbibing various thoughts, messages, concepts and ideas thrown by the author. Also, the beautiful doodles throughout the book make it more interesting.
After finishing the book, I had only one thought, that this ‘One book = MBA’. In coming years, the book is surely going to be one of the most referred management books, a book which encapsulates all the trends and analysis, ideas and concepts, and gives a forward-looking perspective to a new work-workplace-worker.
